Awhi
AI assistant built into Tiki-OS
Ask how to do anything in plain language and get clear steps from the Tiki-OS help library and your own documents.
Introducing Awhi
Meet Awhi, your Tiki-OS assistant
Awhi is an AI helper built into Tiki-OS. You can ask her how to do something in plain language, like “How do I record a grant payment?” or “How do I merge two members?”, and she gives you clear steps based on the Tiki-OS help library.
-
Always there
An Awhi button appears on every page for signed-in users.
-
Knows your organisation
Your administrators can upload your own policies, procedures and guides (PDF, Word or text) and write their own articles. Awhi uses them in her answers and links back to the source document. Only your organisation can see this content.
-
On your phone
Awhi has her own phone app that you can install from the browser. It’s protected by your password, an authenticator code and a 4-digit PIN.
-
Your choice of AI
By default, Awhi’s AI is hosted in Aotearoa on SiteHost, so your questions and content stay within New Zealand. You can also choose ChatGPT, Gemini, Grok or another compatible AI using your own key; questions then go to that provider.
-
Connects to other tools
A secure API and MCP connection let other systems and AI agents search the Tiki-OS help library.
-
Pay for what you use
Awhi is an optional add-on billed on usage, with a monthly spending cap you control.
-
Gets better over time
Questions Awhi can’t answer are stored within Tiki-OS so they can be answered in future and the help library can grow.

Why Tiki Systems
Built by Māori for Māori
For more than 20 years, we have continued to develop our systems alongside the needs of iwi. Today, more than 55 iwi use the Tiki Systems platform to support memberships ranging from 500 to 40,000 records. Your organisation’s data is hosted in Auckland, Aotearoa — not offshore.
-
Continually improving
Our products keep developing as technology, security and iwi requirements evolve.
-
Designed to work together
Membership, grants, communications, voting, fishing permits and member engagement share one connected source of information.
-
Training and support
Business-hours support and training are available by Zoom, backed by an expanding library of instructional videos.
Data sovereignty
Grounded in Aotearoa
Tiki Systems is a New Zealand registered company, accountable under the Privacy Act 2020. Tiki-OS is hosted in Auckland with SiteHost, a New Zealand owned and operated provider. Built by Māori for Māori, with local support and clear NZD pricing.
- Your Tiki-OS data is hosted onshore: no offshore parent company, no foreign-region fallback
- Aligned with Te Mana Raraunga Māori Data Sovereignty principles
- Your organisation owns and controls its data. We do not commercialise, mine or repurpose it
Security
Protected in layers
Tiki-OS is built on the Microsoft technology platform with Microsoft SQL Server, and protected by several independent layers of security.
-
Hosted in New Zealand
Tiki-OS is hosted in Auckland with SiteHost, a New Zealand owned and operated enterprise hosting provider. The data your organisation holds in Tiki-OS is hosted onshore. The default AI for the optional Awhi assistant is also hosted in New Zealand on SiteHost; if your organisation connects another AI provider with its own key, questions go to that provider (see our Privacy Policy).
-
Cloudflare protection
All public traffic passes through Cloudflare, which filters malicious traffic, blocks common web attacks and protects against DDoS attacks. Our servers only accept traffic from Cloudflare, and HTTPS is the only open port.
-
Your users, your permissions
You create users and set roles such as Administrators, Validators and General users, each with separate read and write permissions. Multi-factor authentication with an authenticator app is required for every user.
-
Email and SMS from inside Tiki-OS
Mass email and SMS are sent from within Tiki-OS, so there is no need to export spreadsheets or upload member lists to mailing platforms such as Mailchimp. Messages are delivered through a trusted outside email and SMS delivery provider.
-
Nightly backups
Your data is backed up automatically every night and kept for seven days as standard. Optional enhanced backups are stored on a separate storage volume in a separate environment.
-
Locked-down server access
Only one authorised administrator can access the server environment, and only from an approved IP address range.
